Housekeeping and Food and Beverage : Participants will rotate between the below positions throughout the summer at the discretion of the host employer. Participants may work any and all positions based on business need and English level.
Housekeeping
This position requires cleaning guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. Duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning guest bathrooms, making beds, removing guest linens, doing laundry, taking out trash, vacuuming, and cleaning floors, showers, sinks, and toilets. This position requires following specific instructions on service, as well as a lot of physical activity including standing for long periods of time, heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and walking up and down stairs. Housekeeping requires participants to use cleaning chemicals. General cleaning and other duties may be assigned by the employer as necessary.
Kitchen Assistant
Duties include, but are not limited to, washing and reshelving dishware and glassware, emptying garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down food service tables, cleaning appliances, chopping vegetables, and assisting the cook. The kitchen area at times may have high humidity and temperatures. Previous experience in a kitchen is preferred but not required. Participants must follow all food and health codes. General cleaning and other duties may be assigned by supervisor as needed.
Dining Room Attendant
Participants are responsible for assisting servers and bussers. Duties include, but are not limited to: refilling waters, setting tables, bussing tables, and replenishing linens, glassware, silverware, and dishes. Participants will take orders, serve food, and generally assist dining room and kitchen staff. General cleaning and other duties may be assigned by supervisor. This position requires standing for long periods of time.
Retail and Conference Services : Participants will rotate between the below positions throughout the summer at the discretion of the host employer. Participants may work any and all positions based on business need and English level.
Conference Service Attendant
Conference Services and Audio-Visual attendants are responsible for setting up and arranging all meeting spaces neatly and in accordance with guests’ requests. This includes seating and table setup and breakdown, cleaning and maintaining all meeting space areas, including floor care. The conference service attendant is also responsible for being a clerk at the conference service desk. This includes being responsible for providing guests with any sport equipment. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor as necessary.
Retail
Retail position duties include, but are not limited to: making coffee, milk shakes, and smoothies and cleaning the front seating area and employee section. Duties also include keeping workspace clean, emptying trash from all areas, managing merchandising and inventory, and handling customer purchases and cash. General cleaning and other duties may be assigned by the employer as necessary. This position requires following specific instructions on service, as well as a lot of physical activity such as standing for long periods of time.

**Participant will not be charged for housing. Participant will share a bedroom with another participant in dormitory style housing. The dormitory is on-site and co-ed. Each room will have a TV and a mini-fridge. The dormitory includes 2 large community bathrooms, a full kitchen, a lobby area with cable TV and computers, and an outside garden with a campfire area. Furnishings, linens, and Wi-Fi are included.
Transportation to work
Students can walk or ride a bike.
