Park Services : This position would provide you with a wide range of duties in many different areas throughout the amusement park. Duties include cleaning pools in the waterpark (cleaning debris, wiping down walls, vacuuming the pools), helping in all departments (rides, games, retail, front gate, sanitation, and the bank) when they are short on employees, as well as other duties as assigned. A typical morning shift would include cleaning pools/waterpark then helping the sanitation team clean the park and waiting for other departments to see if they need help. If other departments don’t need help you will help in sanitation for the day. A typical evening shift would include checking to see if other departments need help, helping in sanitation, then working in the bank. If other departments are not in need of help your primary responsibility would be helping in sanitation. This position’s task will change daily and will report to the general manager. This position will require someone who is open to learning something new daily and willing to be flexible. This position requires frequent walking, standing, and moving. May involve moderate lifting (up to 25 lbs (12 kg). You will be working in the hot, humid summer sun and exposed to various weather elements. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and switch priorities. Able to work independently as well as in a team. Must have the ability to stand for an entire shift. You may be cross-trained in other areas to assist with if needed. The position is for a minimum of 32 hrs per week (unless there is extreme weather causing the Park to close). During very busy weeks you will be required to work 40 hrs per week (approx. Mid-May through Mid-August).

Most positions require little or no experience. All positions involve being on your feet and remaining active while interacting with our guests. Positions are indoors, semi-outdoors, or completely outdoors. Most indoor positions are not air-conditioned. You must be able to tolerate the heat and humidity of the Iowa summer. No matter what the weather conditions, all positions are vital to developing the fun culture our guests have come to expect here when visiting Adventureland Park.

Rides Team Member : You will be working with guests and operating rides at the various amusement park rides. Must handle guest services and satisfaction with a positive attitude, understanding, and compassion in a friendly and helpful way. Must like dealing with people, be friendly, and have an outgoing personality. Follow all safety policies, interact positively with the guests and other crew members. You will be standing the entire shift and requires moderate lifting and mobility. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting guests during the loading and unloading process and ensuring guest safety by checking their seat belts or lap bars, etc. You will be working outside in the hot summer sun and be exposed to various weather conditions. Additional tasks as requested by management. You may be cross-trained in other areas to assist as needed. The position is for a minimum of 32 hrs per week (unless there is extreme weather causing the Park to close). During very busy weeks you will be required to work 40 hrs per week (approx. Mid-May through Mid-August).

Food Concession : You will be working at a food stand located inside the amusement park. Some of the locations are mobile (like an ice cream cart; others are in a permanent location). Duties include taking food orders from guests, filling orders, cashier (handling American currency and credit card transactions), and preparation of food items. Stocking food and inventory and keeping the area organized and clean. May have to lift up to 50 lbs (23kg). You will work as a team to prepare the food, sell food items, and clean and close up the food area at the end of your shift. This includes cleaning, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning the equipment (may include fryers, griddles, mixers, or ovens), cleaning counters and work surfaces. It will include additional tasks as required by management. There are strict safety requirements you will need to follow regarding the use of personal protective equipment for chemical hazards, proper safety attire, and following all other company safety requirements. Must have a strong work ethic, great attitude, and like working with people. Must be hardworking, honest, friendly, and able to work outside in the sun. Only apply if you like to work and have team spirit. You may be cross-trained in other areas to assist as needed like working a shift per week operating a park ride. Lifeguard : Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary. Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required. Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable. Supervises and assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment, assists with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents, and adds chemicals to pool water as directed. Instructs or assists classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed. Resolves scheduling conflicts to ensure safe pool environment when competing programs/priorities require use of aquatic facilities.
